Minnesota Youth Hockey State Tournaments

Minnesota Hockey is a thing that is very special to many no matter the age. This past week marked the end of the season for many that participated in the youth hockey state tournament. Here is some of the results of the tourneys.

Bantam AA:

Moorhead Spuds are this years Bantam AA state champs, A power house with less than 7 losses on the year they seemed to steam roll everybody and just could not be stopped. Winning over Hermantown in the state championship game 7-0, and absolutely dominating in shots on goal. with Hermantown getting 11 total shots and the Spuds getting just under 30. Moorhead’s goalie stopped all 11 shots and lead them to a victory and to with the state championship.

Bantam A:

Hockey Town USA (Warroad Minnesota) is the Bantam A state champions, with a 3-0 shutout win over Hopkins the warriors bring home a dominant victory. Warroad Bantam A had no shortage of wins this regular season, they just seemed to have that magic touch. Coming off of only a 3 loss season they have proved it was no fluke that they were state champs. In the championship game they showed no mercy on Hopkins, they had a total of 24 shots on net Their goaltending was also fantastic, their goalie stopped all 24 shots and helped them become state champs.

 Bantam B1:

Roseville bantam B1 defeated Mahtomedi in the state championship with a convincing score of 6-2. although being outshot in two of the three periods Roseville was able to capitalize in the second period and score five goals. At the end the shots were tied 31-31, even though being tied Roseville proved to be superior in their scoring abilities and capitalizing on powerplays this effectiveness led them to the title game and helped them become state champs.
