The Chanhassen Storm made the most of their state tournament debut.
Chanhassen 7
Rochester Century/JM 0
Chanhassen came out determined to not be the victim of a first round upset loss at the hands of Rochester Century/JM. A slow first period was made up for when they scored 3 goals and took a 4-0 lead into the locker room. They would add 3 more goals in the 3rd for a 7-0 final and Mr Hockey candidate Gavin Uhlenkamp showed everyone why he should win the award. He is a gifted skater with excellent vision and he contributed one of the goals in the 2nd period. Also scoring for the Storm was Jack Christ, Caden Lee, Tyler Smith, Micah Saxon, Jake Risch and Ryan McPartland. This is why the Storm are so hard to play against, they can spread the puck around and have multiple kids that can score at any given time. Rochester Century/JM will head to the consolation round and will play Centennial at Aldrich Arena at 10:00 Thursday. Chanhassen will face off against Cretin Derham Hall at 6:00 Friday evening in whats sure to be a fantastic MN high school hockey semi-final matchup.
