Minnesota Boys High School Hockey results 1-13-2026.
In a night that featured 40+ games we saw some great games with playoff section seeding implications, here are a few recaps from some of them we kept an eye on.
Moorhead 4 Bemidji 0
In a section 8AA battle Moorhead controlled the game from start to finish, scoring once in the first period, twice in the second, and adding a power-play goal in the third. Zac Zimmerman led the way with two goals and an assist, while Tyden Bergeson added three assists. Will Arnold stopped all 18 shots for the shutout as Moorhead went 2-for-4 on the power play.
East Grand Forks 8 Roseau 2
After Roseau jumped out to a 2–0 first-period lead, East Grand Forks responded with five goals in the second and three more in the third. Jace Panzer scored a hat trick and added an assist, while Cy Hjelmen finished with two goals and two assists. Tucker Lovejoy chipped in five points as EGF outshot Roseau 31–19.
St. Thomas Academy 3 Edina 1
The Cadets broke a scoreless tie late in the second period and added two more in the third to hold off Edina. Cole Braunshausen scored the game-winning power-play goal, and Maverick McKinnon finished with a goal and an assist, including the empty-netter. Owen Ryan made 24 saves in net for St. Thomas Academy.
Monticello 5 Pine City Area 2
This was a big section 5A game we were keeping an eye one and Pine City scored twice on the power play in the first period, but Monticello took over after that with four unanswered goals. Brady McGriff led the comeback with two goals and an assist, while Carter Lemke and Ashton Stoll each recorded three points. Monticello went 2-for-4 on the power play and outscored Pine City 4–0 over the final two periods. The big 3 for Monticello showed up for this one.
Hutchinson 3 Westonka 2 (OT)
Hutchinson gets their first win of the season and erased a two-goal deficit in the third period before Griffin Hutchins scored the overtime winner. Jack Hantge and Hudson Lien scored shorthanded and even-strength goals to force overtime. Weston Borstad was strong in net with 30 saves as Hutchinson finished the night with a short-handed goal and the OT winner.
Hill-Murray 4 Wayzata 3
Hill-Murray scored three times in the second period to take control and held off a late Wayzata push. Landon Sampair and Chaz Lentz combined for six points, while Chase Crowley added the eventual game-winner early in the third. Wayzata outshot Hill-Murray 34–36 in a tight back-and-forth game.
South St. Paul 3 Albert Lea 2 (OT)
Special teams decided this one as South St. Paul went 3-for-4 on the power play, including Ryan Cudo’s overtime winner. Roman Knight scored twice on the power play and added an assist. Albert Lea struck first and briefly led in the second, but South St. Paul finished strong to secure the OT win.
Bloomington Jefferson 6 Waconia 2
Bloomington Jefferson got back on the winning side of things after a 3 game slid and scored four power-play goals and never trailed after the first period. Mason Van Brunt recorded a hat trick, while Brayden Thomas and Kaden Larson each had multi-point nights. Waconia was limited to two goals and spent much of the night shorthanded.
Prior Lake 4 Lakeville South 3
Prior Lake built a 4–0 lead before holding off a third-period push from Lakeville South. Tyler Sporney, Hudson Young, and Brayden Lake helped Prior Lake jump ahead early, while Joseph Gannon made 41 saves in net. Lakeville South outshot Prior Lake 44–20 but came up just short.
Mahtomedi 2 Holy Angels 1
Mahtomedi answered an early Holy Angels goal and scored the game-winner on the power play in the third period. Devin O’Donnell finished with a goal and an assist, while Jackson Chesak stopped 19 of 20 shots in net. The game stayed tight throughout with both teams limited on special teams.
Owatonna 4 Dodge County 2
Owatonna regained the lead late in the second period and added an insurance goal in the third. Ryan Lewis scored twice, and Camoren Molina added a goal as Owatonna edged Dodge County despite being outshot 20–21. Dodge County went 1-for-4 on the power play in the loss.
River Lakes 4 Willmar 3 (OT)
River Lakes scored twice in the third period before Isaac Blaschko netted the overtime winner. Parker Welz scored twice for River Lakes, while Luke Larson finished with three points for Willmar. River Lakes outshot Willmar 35–25 and earned the extra point at home.
Northern Lakes 3 Little Falls 2 (OT)
Northern Lakes dominated the shot count and finally broke through in overtime. Josiah Reier scored twice, including the game-winner, while Little Falls goalie Izaak Kalis made 60 saves in a standout performance. Northern Lakes finished with a massive 63–20 edge in shots.
Elk River/Zimmerman 5 St. Michael-Albertville 4 (OT)
Elk River/Zimmerman won a back-and-forth game on Tristan Kriech’s overtime goal. Kriech finished with two goals and two assists, while Tommy Olson scored twice. The teams combined for six goals in the third period before the game was settled in overtime.
Hermantown 2 Hibbing/Chisholm 1
This was a battle for the #1 overall seed in section 7A and Hermantown scored once in each of the first two periods and held on the rest of the way. Micklain Martalock opened the scoring on the power play, and Paxson Madill added the game-winner in the second. Bryce Francisco made 37 saves as Hibbing/Chisholm fired 38 shots.
Cretin-Derham Hall 4 White Bear Lake 3
Cretin-Derham Hall scored twice in the third period to complete the comeback. Soren Saumweber scored twice, while Maverick Timmons added a goal and two assists. White Bear Lake tied the game early in the third, but Cretin answered late to secure the win.
Duluth East 3 Forest Lake 2 (OT)
Duluth East won it in overtime after Forest Lake forced the extra session late in regulation. Jax Edgerton scored the OT winner, while Greyson Medak and Niko Mitchell also found the net. Duluth East outshot Forest Lake 42–35 in a tightly played game.
Mankato West 6 Mankato East 2
Mankato West broke the game open with five goals in the second period. Brodie Cox and Jakobe Tosch each scored twice, and Grady Schmidt finished with four assists. West went 3-for-6 on the power play and outshot Mankato East 49–24.
