In last night’s game, Grand Rapids defeated Hibbing/Chisholm in newly renovated Yanmar Arena with a final score of 5-2. Grand Rapids had a strong start with three goals in the first period by Bauer Murphy, Nathan Garski, and Dominic Broberg. In the second period, Grand Rapids extended their lead with a goal by William Shermoen, while Hibbing/Chisholm’s Tate Swanson scored their first. The third period saw each team add one more goal to their tally, with Garski scoring again for Grand Rapids and Swanson netting another for Hibbing/Chisholm. The goalies saw a fair amount of action, with Grand Rapids’ Ryan Kerr making 20 saves on 22 shots, and Hibbing/Chisholm’s Tim Urdahl making 28 saves on 33 shots.
