🔷 Southwest Christian/Richfield Enters a New Era with new Coaches and Promising Core

The 2025–26 season marks a new chapter for the Southwest Christian/Richfield Stars as they bring in former NHL players Hunter Warner and Eric Staal to lead the bench. After graduating a handful of seniors, including key veterans like forward Paul Horner, defenseman Ashton Hendel, and goaltender Eric Carlson, the Stars look to reload behind a talented returning group and fresh leadership.

🔑 Returning Impact Players

  • Tate Hardacre (#21, D, Sr.) (assuming he returns for his season season)
One of the most dominant two-way defensemen in Class A, Hardacre led the team with 42 points (19G–23A) from the blue line and also racked up 67 PIM, showing his physical edge. He’ll be leaned on heavily again this season.

  • Bennett Breuer (#6, F, Jr.)
A consistent offensive threat, Breuer tallied 34 points (14G–20A) and was a reliable contributor on both the power play and penalty kill. He’s poised for a breakout campaign.

  • Christian Greer (#34, F, Sr.)
With 28 points (11G–17A) last year, Greer brings size (6’2″, 195 lbs) and power to the forward group. Expect him to drive play and create matchup problems for opponents.

  • Carter Miedema (#9, F, Sr.)
A dependable two-way forward, Miedema added 14 points and will likely take on a leadership role among the returning upperclassmen.

  • Rowan Forpahl (#91, F, Jr.), Vinny Ferrara (#77, F, Sr.), Dylan Trebil (#25, F, Sr.), and Luke Dore (#23, D, Sr.) all return with varsity experience and the ability to contribute on special teams and depth scoring.

🧱 Defensive Core

In addition to Hardacre, the blue line returns Carson Wright (#4, Jr.) and Chris Tchida (#36, Jr.), both of whom gained valuable experience last season and will be expected to step into bigger roles with the graduation of Hendel and Andrew Davis.

🥅 In the Crease

With Eric Carlson moving on after starting 18 games last season, the net now likely belongs to Hudson Tucker (#70, So.), who played in 10 games and posted a .870 save percentage. The Stars will need Tucker to take the next step to remain competitive in a tough section.

🔮 Outlook

The addition of coaches Eric Staal and Hunter Warner brings instant credibility and NHL-caliber experience to the program. With a strong core led by Hardacre, Breuer, and Greer, the Stars may have the tools to compete in an ultra deep and competitive section 2A.  The key will be developing consistency in net and finding depth scoring to support their top lines.
