Minneapolis Poised for Reload with Key Returners and Incoming Talent

MINNEAPOLIS — After another strong campaign in Section 2A, (they lost in the section 2A title game to Orono) the Minneapolis hockey program will enter the 2025–26 season with a solid returning core—and a few holes to fill.

Graduation hits the team hard with the departure of several senior leaders, but a talented junior class, capable goaltending, and offensive firepower make this a team that can’t be overlooked in the coming year.

🔙 Key Returning Players

Eli Milinkovich (#21, F, Sr.)
One of the most productive returners, Milinkovich posted 42 points (20G–22A) across 28 games. He’ll be the centerpiece of the top line and the power play, taking on an even bigger leadership role next season.

Rory Kronick (#9, F, Jr.)
Kronick tallied 33 points (13G–20A) and added key contributions on both special teams. His creativity and poise with the puck will be relied on to keep the offense moving.

Wilson Lamberty (#37, D, So.)
As a freshman defenseman, Lamberty showed maturity beyond his years, posting 20 points and strong puck movement from the blue line. Expect a breakout season as he returns with added experience.

Milo Black (#8, D, Sr.) and Jack Shroat (#18, D, Sr.) bring additional stability to the back end, while Oliver Kutzer (#33, F, Sr.), Aaron Murphy (#11, F, Sr.), and Owen Deyoung (#39, F, Sr.) give the forward lines veteran depth.

Griffin Simpson (#31, G, Sr.) will likely step into the starting goalie role after a strong season backing up senior Adam Lybeck. In 11 appearances, Simpson posted a .898 save percentage and one shutout.

🎓 Graduated Seniors

The biggest loss for Minneapolis will be Johan Krasean (#19), who led the team in scoring with 46 points (23G–23A) in 28 games. His combination of size and skill was a matchup nightmare for opponents.

Also graduating:

  • Matthew Walsh (#16, F, 25 pts) – Clutch scorer and all-situations player

  • Hudson Kruse (#22, F, 18 pts) – Reliable third-line winger

  • Nick Anderson (#27, D, 26 pts) – Smooth-skating defenseman and breakout passer

  • Maverick Knoke (#43, D) and Nik Nordeen (#20, D) – Physical defenders

  • Darby McGuire (#26, F), Michael Madden (#17, F), and Riley Naughton (#13, F) – Secondary scoring and locker room leadership

  • Adam Lybeck (#1, G) – The senior netminder posted a 12–3–2 record with a 2.24 GAA and .897 save percentage

🧱 Outlook

The 2025–26 Minneapolis squad will be young in places but not lacking experience. Milinkovich, Kronick, and Lamberty provide star power, while Simpson looks ready to take the reins in goal.

There’s room for underclassmen like Charlie Sokolski, Marshall Claeson, and William Ackerman to carve out bigger roles, and several strong Bantam players are expected to join the JV/Varsity mix this offseason.

If the new faces step up quickly and Simpson holds steady in net, Minneapolis could make another push in Section 2A come playoff time.
