🏒 On-Ice Performance
Twig Stick – Built for Durability and Longevity Not Speed.
The Twig goalie stick feels solid and a bit heavy in the hand — at 635g, it has more weight than most elite-level sticks. While this might lend itself to better durability, it also makes the stick feel bulky and harder to maneuver.
The shaft has some grip but not nearly enough, which meant we had to add tape just to keep it secure in our glove. Puck handling felt a bit slower, and transitions weren’t as smooth. That said, the stick feels like it could take a beating — making it a solid option for practices or dryland sessions.
Bauer Hyperlite 2 – Lightweight Control
At just 585 grams, the Bauer Hyperlite 2 is noticeably lighter. It almost feels like you could toss it around one-handed, giving you insane control for poke checks and paddle-down saves. The built-in tacky grip is excellent — no tape needed.
From a puck-handling perspective, the Hyperlite 2 is simply more responsive. The Textreme + HyperCore construction makes the blade feel crisp without compromising durability. It’s made for elite play and high-speed decision-making.
🧠 Final Thoughts: Which One Should You Buy?
-
🥅 Twig is a budget-friendly practice stick that holds up well but seems to lack the finesse you need in a game. Use it to extend the life of your game stick or for training situations where wear-and-tear is expected. We have high hopes for this company and if they can make a lighter stick in the future we would really love to try it out again!

🚀 Bauer Hyperlite 2 is a premium game stick — light, grippy, and performance-driven. If you’re suiting up for varsity, high-level AAA, or just want pro-level feel, this is your go-to for games that matter.
