Aldrich Arena, Maplewood – Chisago Lakes put on a dominant performance, shutting out Simley 4-0 in the Section 4A semifinals. The Wildcats controlled the pace from start to finish, outshooting Simley 60-16 and securing their spot in the section championship vs Mahtomedi.
Chisago Lakes wasted no time establishing control, heavily outshooting Simley 27-5 in the opening frame. Their persistence paid off at 10:14 when Austin Slettom found the back of the net, assisted by Landon Kerkow and Colton Whiterabbit, to put the Wildcats ahead 1-0.
Despite a resilient effort from Simley goaltender Everett Hay, who made several key saves, Chisago Lakes continued to press offensively. A power-play opportunity midway through the period gave the Wildcats a chance to extend their lead, and they capitalized at 8:19 when Max Koch buried a shot off a feed from Max Bobrowski and Alex Bever, making it 2-0.
Simley looked for a spark in the third, but Wildcats goaltender Shandley Corbin stood tall, stopping all 10 third-period shots he faced.
Chisago put the game out of reach at 5:27, as Colton Whiterabbit found the back of the net off an assist from Koch and Nick Hansen, extending the lead to 3-0. The Wildcats added an empty-net goal at 15:14, with Bobrowski sealing the game with an assist from Ben Kerkow, capping off the 4-0 victory.
