Owatonna Outlasts Rochester Century/John Marshall in 5-3 Victory
Owatonna pulls off an upset? or not if you are a huskies fan. Despite being outshot 29-23, they found a way to get it done.
First Period
Owatonna struck first at 7:20 when Caleb Ringhofer found the back of the net off a setup from Jackson Kath. Just three minutes later, Grady Roush extended the lead with help from Ringhofer and Zachary Roesner. Rochester Century/John Marshall responded late in the period as Ole Fevold capitalized on an assist from Brock Clarey and Cooper Hedin, cutting the deficit to 2-1 heading into the second.
Second Period
Owatonna reclaimed a two-goal advantage midway through the second, with Zachary Klecker netting an even-strength goal at 9:40. Rochester Century/John Marshall generated offensive pressure but was unable to find the back of the net, keeping the score 3-1 entering the final period.
Third Period
Early in the third, Grady Roush struck again, making it 4-1 at 1:46 with an assist from Caleb Ringhofer. However, Rochester Century/John Marshall pushed back, scoring twice in quick succession. Ole Fevold grabbed his second of the night at 9:55, followed by Calvin O’Reilly just over a minute later, cutting the deficit to 4-3.
Owatonna sealed the game at 16:34 when Andrew Mitchell buried a crucial empty net insurance goal to make it 5-3.
