Roseau Prevails in Double Overtime to Edge Sartell-St. Stephen in Section 8AA Quarterfinals

Roseau punched their ticket to the Section 8AA semifinals with a thrilling 2-1 double-overtime victory over Sartell-St. Stephen at Bernick’s Ice Arena.

The teams battled through a scoreless first period before Sartell-St. Stephen broke the deadlock in the second. Devin Jacobs found the back of the net at 7:26, assisted by Shaun Paulson and Owen Oxton, giving the Sabres a 1-0 lead.

Roseau responded in the third, with Isaac Baumgartner netting the equalizer at 11:22 off assists from Austin Klint and Jake Halvorson. Neither team could convert in the first overtime, setting up a dramatic finish in the second extra frame.

At 5:33 of double overtime, Eli Wensloff delivered the game-winner on the power play, securing the win for the Rams. Klint and Halvorson each recorded their second assists of the night on the deciding goal.
