Rock Ridge Tops Duluth East 4-2 to Advance in Section 7AA Playoffs

Rock Ridge punched their ticket to the Section 7AA semifinals with a 4-2 victory over Duluth East in the quarterfinal matchup at Iron Trail Motors Event Center.

The Wolverines jumped out to an early lead as Grady Dimberio found the back of the net just under four minutes into the game. Rock Ridge carried the momentum into the second period, where Zac Norberg extended the lead at 7:18, followed by Dimberio’s second goal just over a minute later to make it 3-0.

Duluth East mounted a third-period push, cutting into the deficit with a goal from Jax Edgerton at 2:21. Marccus Anttila added another for the Greyhounds at 8:39, bringing them within one. However, Dimberio capped off his hat trick at 9:58, securing the win for Rock Ridge.

Rock Ridge controlled the pace of play, outshooting Duluth East 29-17. Goaltender Wyatt Jonassen stopped 15 shots for the Wolverines, while Duluth East’s Nolan Nygaard made 25 saves in the loss.

With the win, Rock Ridge advances to the next round, while Duluth East’s season comes to an end.
