St.Cloud Cathedral 3 (OT)
Warroad 2

St. Cloud Cathedral and Warroad was a tightly contested game that went into overtime. The first period ended without any goals, but the game picked up in the second period when Warroad’s Murray Marvin-Cordes scored, assisted by Ryan Lund and Taven James. St. Cloud Cathedral answered with a goal from Cole Hwang, assisted by Jaeger Wood.

The third period saw Marvin-Cordes scoring again for Warroad on a power play, with James and Broden Hontvet assisting. Not long after, St. Cloud Cathedral’s Joey Gillespie evened the score with help from Andrew Dwinnell and John Hirschfeld.

In overtime, Griffin Sturm of St. Cloud Cathedral netted the game winning goal with less than a second left to play, again assisted by Dwinnell, ending the game 3-2 in favor of St. Cloud Cathedral.

Throughout the game, both teams had opportunities on the power play, but only Warroad managed to capitalize on one of their five chances. St. Cloud Cathedral couldn’t convert on either of their two power plays.

Penalties were a significant part of the game, with St. Cloud Cathedral serving 10 minutes for 5 penalties and Warroad serving 4 minutes for 2 penalties. Despite the higher number of shots on goal by Warroad, St. Cloud Cathedral managed to secure the victory in overtime.

Centennial 3 (OT)
Eastview 2

The first period saw both teams defending well, leaving the score at 0-0. The second period was where the action picked up, with Centennial’s Gavin Cunningham scoring a power play goal, assisted by Austin Petersen and Harper Searles. Heath Nelson quickly followed with another power play goal for Centennial, doubling their lead.

Eastview’s Issac Berberena, with assists from Zach Wooten and Jordan Brothers, managed to get one back before the period closed. In the third period, Brayden Kaldenbach from Eastview equalized the score with the same assisting duo of Wooten and Brothers contributing.

The game went into overtime, where Centennial’s Heath Nelson, assisted by Gavin Cunningham and Gavin Schahn, scored the decisive goal, ending the match 3-2 in favor of Centennial.

Both teams had multiple power play chances, but only Centennial was able to capitalize, scoring twice on their two power play opportunities. Eastview, despite six power plays, could not convert any into goals.

The game was heavy on penalties, with Centennial accumulating 18 minutes across nine infractions, while Eastview had 10 minutes on five infractions. Shots were nearly even, with Eastview edging out Centennial 33 to 31 by the end of overtime. Despite the penalty minutes and the pressure from Eastview, Centennial walked away with the win.

Robinsdale/Armstrong Cooper 5
Breck 4

The game began with Robbinsdale taking an early lead with two quick goals in the first period from Jameson Essen and Adian Cook.

In the second period, Robbinsdale extended their lead with a goal by Lewis Majkozak. However, Breck began their comeback with Ben Amato and Nate Miller each scoring to bring the score to an even 3-3 by the end of the period.

The third period saw Robbinsdale’s Dawson Franke score a short-handed goal, but Breck responded with two more goals from Ben Amato and Nick Nugent, tying the game once again and sending it into overtime.

In overtime, Adian Cook from Robbinsdale found the back of the net, sealing the victory for his team. The game ended with Robbinsdale Armstrong/Cooper defeating Breck 5-4.

Both teams had opportunities with the man advantage, but neither could capitalize on their power plays. Breck had four chances without success, while Robbinsdale had one power play that did not result in a goal.

The game was also marked by several penalties, with Breck incurring 7 minutes on 2 infractions, while Robbinsdale had 14 minutes on 7 infractions. The shot count was close, with Robbinsdale slightly outshooting Breck with 32 shots to Breck’s 31.

In the end, Robbinsdale Armstrong/Cooper emerged victorious in a closely contested battle that demonstrated the resilience and determination of both teams.

 

Mankato East 4
Cambridge/Isanti 3

Cambridge-Isanti faced off against Mankato East. The game opened with Mankato East taking the lead with an early goal, setting the tone for the match.

The second period saw Cambridge-Isanti rallying back with Caleb Wisen and Seth Terhell each finding the net, giving them a one-goal advantage over Mankato East.

However, the third period belonged to Mankato East as they mounted a comeback with three consecutive goals, overcoming Cambridge-Isanti’s lead and ultimately securing a 4-3 victory.

Neither team had opportunities with the power play, as there were no penalties throughout the game, a rarity in the sport. Both teams had an equal number of shots on goal, with 26 each, indicating a well-matched game.

In the end, it was Mankato East who managed to edge out Cambridge-Isanti in this evenly matched encounter.
