After the first weekend of action Moorheads Kai Weigel leads all goaltenders with a 100% save %.  He faced 19 shots in Elite League action and got the shutout.  To get a shutout at any level is amazing, let alone one of the most elite high school leagues in the country.  Last season Weigel led the Moorhead Spuds to a 19-11 record and a trip to the 2023 Minnesota State
High school hockey tournament

Weigel is followed by Hermantowns Dane Calloway who faced 37 shots on goal and allowed 2 goals, good enough for a .946 save %.  For those of you who aren’t aware the Upper Midwest Elite League is the premier fall league for Minnesota High Hockey Players that are not playing anywhere else.
