On todays boys high school hockey playoff schedule we have 4 semi-final games:

SECTION 7A
Hibbing (16-8-1) – Hermantown (23-2-1)
Hermantown is the favorite to come out of this section once again barring a major upset, although I think most of Minnesota would love to see them lose out.  The last time these teams played it was a 6-0 win for Hermantown and they appear to be well on their way to another state tournament appearance.  They play at Amsoil Arena in Duluth today at 5:30, good luck boys!

Duluth Denfeld (14-11-1) – Rock Ridge (17-8-1)
This could be the playoff game of the night, these teams have played twice, each team won a game.  The first was on 12-13-2022 and it was Duluth Denfeld pulling off a 5-2 win despite getting outshot 35-27.  The second matchup was on 1-26-2023 and Rock Ridge dominated the stat sheet.  They won 6-1 and outshot Denfeld 47-21 in the blowout victory.  Whatever goalie is hot that’s who will carry the team tonight at Amsoil Arena.
Key players tonight:
Andy Larson (Duluth Denfeld) 35 goals, 33 assists for 68 points
Dylan Hedley (Rock Ridge) 16 goals, 25 assists for 41 points
Connor Doyle (Duluth Denfeld Goalie) .889 save %
Ryan Rothfork (Rock Ridge Goalie) .928 save %

SECTION 3A
In southern Minnesota Hockey we will see last years section champion Mankato East (11-15) taking on Luverne (19-6-1).  These teams have not played each other this year so who knows what will transpire.
Key Luverne players in the game:
Elliot Domagala  37 points
Owen Sudenga 45 points
Brock Behrend  54 points
Patrick Kroski 63
Goalie Tyler Arends has a .909 save %
Mankato East key players:
Zachary Lebens 32
20 Shae Gavin 35
17 Andrew Bastian 36
Goalie Brody Kunst has an .870 save %

The #1 seed New Ulm Eagles (22-3-1) will take on Mankato West (8-15-3) tonight at 8:00.  On paper New Ulm should dominate this game, but in playoff hockey anything can happen.  The Eagles are led by the trio of:
Kaden Larson 37 points
Bryer Lang 37 points
Austin Uecker 65 points.
Mankato West will rely on Maddox Langworthy (28 points) and Jaeger Zimmerman (33 points) to carry the load.  These teams also have not faced each other yet this year, despite both being in southern Minnesota.  Good luck boys, enjoy the moment tonight!
