Last night was a bit slower than normal for Minnesota Girls High School Hockey, but there was 5 games played and the winner advanced, the loser went home, here is how it shook out:

SECTION 2AA:
Minnetonka showed why they are a top ranked team with a dominant performance in the 14-1 win over New Prague, shots were 63-2 Skippers.  Minnetonka will now play Prior Lake 2-14-2023 at 6:00.

Prior Lake 2 Eden Priaire 1 (OT)  
This game was about as even as games can get, shots were 41-39 Prior Lake, the game winning goal was scored by Ava Guillimete and it was a shorthanded goal.  Eden Prairie’s season ends with a 10-16 record, Prior Lake advances to play Minnetonka next Tuesday night.

Holy Family 3 Chaska/Chanhassen 0
This game could have been much worse if it wasn’t for the great play of Madeleine Margraf, the Chaska Chanhassen Goalie.  She faced 55 shots and saved 52 of them, Chaska’s season ends with a 6-20-1 record.  Holy Family has been a top 10 ranked team most of the season and showed it last night.  They advance to the next round of playoffs and will host Shakopee 2-14-2023.

Shakopee 3 Bloomington Jefferson 2
This game saw no scoring in the first period, it was 0-0 after 1.  Valerie Panvica scored first for Bloomington Jefferson to give them a short lead, Shakopee would answer about 10:00 later making it 1-1 after 2.  Annika Willmert would then score twice for Shakopee in the 3rd period and that’s all the scoring they would need to secure the victory and advance to play Holy Family Tuesday night. 

SECTION 4AA:
EAST RIDGE 2  ROSEVILLE/MAHTOMEDI 1
All the goals were scored in the first period in this game.  Scoring first for East Ridge it was Vivian Ferrell, assisted by #23 Keira Limpert, #22 Kylee Paul.  Roseville/Mahtomedi answered when #23 Tori Schmidt would score, assisted by#28 Rylee Bogren, #3 Victoria Nelson.  The Game winner was scored by #17 Bella Schmidt of East Ridge with :9 seconds left in the first period.  East Ridge advances to play whomever wins between Hill-Murray and Tartan later on today.
