Minnesota Boys High School Hockey games January 26 2023

After a slow night in the Minnesota High School hockey world we are back in force tonight with 49 boys games on the agenda, here are a few that caught our attention:

Chanhassen (16-1)
Benilde St. Margarets (12-5)
Chanhassen is riding a 15 game winning streak heading into this game, these teams will play again 2-14-2023.  Chanhassen scores 4.65 goals per game, the Red Knights  score 5.12 goals per game and they are 11-2 over the past 13 games.  If you are in the St. Louis Park area tonight stop in at SLP Rec Center and check this game out tonight at 7:00.

Duluth Denfeld (10-8-1)
Rock Ridge (11-5-1)
This is a huge game in section 7A for playoff seeding that will happen in a few weeks.  Rock Ridge has only lost 1 game since 12-28-2022, a 4-3 OT loss to Cloquet.  Dylan Hedley leads this team with 28 points and goalie Ryan Rothfork has a .931 save for the games he has played.  Duluth Denfeld is coming off an 8-1 blowout loss to #1 ranked Warroad, that was their 3rd straight loss so they are hungry for another win.  Andy Larson is having a fantastic season for the Hunters with 47 points in 19 games, goalie Connor Doyle see’s most of the time in net with a .902 save %.

Delano (10-7)
Holy Family (11-5)
Delano is coming off a big 4-2 section 2A win vs Litchfield Dassel Cokato and will try to take down Wright County conference foe Holy Family.  Senior Will Brown leads the Tigers with 22 goals so far this year.  Holy Family has one of their better teams in recent years and Parker Osborn has 45 points through 16 games.  This should be a great game tonight at the Victoria Rec Center.

Centennial (9-5-1)
Champlin Park (12-5)
These teams last played 1-9-23 and Centennial got the win 6-3.  Champlin Park did outshoot them 36-25 but could not solve Goalie Gavin Schahn.  Under-rated Champlin Park forward Jordan Ronn has 45 points in 17 games followed by Evan Williams with 33.  Centennial is coming off a 9-5 loss to Rogers, they are lead by Harper Searles and his 41 points followed by Peyton Blair with 36 points.  This game is 7:00 tonight at the Champlin Ice Forum arena.

Wayzata (13-2-2)
Edina (11-4-1)
Wayzata is coming off a tough weekend with a 3-0 loss to Warroad and a 2-2 tie to Roseau.  They score over 3 goals per game and give up just 1.5 goals.  Wayzata goalie Will Ingemann is having a great senior year and so far this season he has a .948 save %.  His counterpart for Edina is Robbie Clarkowski, he is 9-4-1 and has a .932 save %.  These teams will play again the last game of the regular season 2-18-2023 so this game is a huge Lake Conference game for both squads.

New Ulm (15-2-1)
Luverne (10-5-1)
Luverne will try to avenge a 2-1 loss to New Ulm on 12-9-22.  New Ulm outshot Luverne 51-24 in that game, goalie Tyler Arends had an excellent showing and he will need another one tonight in this huge section 3A game.

Northfield (13-4)
Albert Lea (12-4)
This is a huge section 1A game tonight, both of these teams have dreams of playing at the state tournament this season.  Northfield has scored 85 goals so far this season and Albert Lea has scored 58.  The leading goal scorer for Northfield is Kamden Kaiser with 23, Joseph Yoon leads Albert Lea with 18 goals.  Both teams have excellent goalies, Keaton Walock has a .909 save % for Northfield, Dakota Jahnke has a .908 save % for Albert Lea.
