MN High School Hockey Games tonight:

Today is an extremely busy day in the MN High School hockey world with 29 games on the Girls Side and 49 Games for the boys we have picked out a few boys games to preview:

Chanhassen (13-1-0) vs Prior Lake (7-6-0):
Chanhassen is going for their 14th straight win tonight vs Prior Lake.  Chanhassen has scored 67 goals thru 14 games and give up just 1 goal per game.  Prior Lake scores 39 and gives up almost 3 goals per game.  Goalie Ben Mickett is going to have to put up a great front tonight for Prior Lake to pull off the upset.  Our pick is Chanhassen 5 – Prior Lake 1.

Simley (5-6-1) vs Two Rivers (11-3-1)
This is a huge game for section 4A playoffs, these teams are trying to position themselves for the #2 seed in sections and avoid Mahtomedi until the section title game.  Two Rivers is have an excellent year so far and it will be interesting to see how they respond as their schedule gets tougher.  Casey Ball leads this squad with 29 points overall and they will ride him as far as he can carry the team.  For Simley it will be Jake Stanton (12 points) and Zach Hilsgen with 10 points that will attempt to get their squad back to .500  Our pick is Two Rivers 4 – Simley 1.

Centennial (7-3-1) vs Andover (8-5-1)
On Paper this game is evenly matched, Centennial has scored 60 goals, Andover has 59, Centennial gives up 2.82 goals per game, Andover 2.68.  The leading goal scorer for Centennial is Peyton Blair with 17, leading Andover is Gavyn Thoreson with 16.  Centennial goalie Gavin Schahn has an .887 save %, Andover goalie Beau Altman has a .914 save %.  Other players to watch are: Harper Searles 28 points (top prospect alum), Drake Ramirez 16 points, Sam Menne 11 points. For Andover watch for Cooper Conway 30 points and Cayden Casey 17 points. Our pick in this game is Andover 4-3 win based mostly on experience from last years state championship.

Delano (7-5-0) vs Orono (10-2-0)
This is a huge game for section seedings in 2A, neither team has lost in sections and the winner of this one will have the inside track to the #1 overall seed for playoffs.  Players to watch on Delano are: Will Brown 18 points, Aaron Lewis 9 points, Cole Schmidt 9 points and goalie Drew Dorsey .886 save %.  Orono will rely on Avery Anderson (22 points), Bradley Walker (21 points) and goalie Brock Peyton .947 save %.  Our pick in this game is Orono finds a way to shut down Will Brown and wins the game 4-1.

Champlin Park (9-3-0) vs Rogers (8-2-2)
Champlin Park is coming off a 6-3 loss to Centennial on Monday and unfortunately it’s not getting any easier with this game tonight.  Jordan Ronn has 31 points to lead this team and goalie Coen Neu has a .890 save %.  For Rogers its Sam Ranallo leading the squad with 20 points followed by Mason Jenson 14 points and Parker Deschene with 13 points.  Goalie Cade Chapman has played all the games so far this year and has a .913 save %.  Our pick in this game is a Rogers win 5-3.
